Only been playing traditional for a few years, started at 24 (now 27). Began by following someone on backing at my local session on guitar, after about a year I took up mandola cause it felt similar enough to guitar in terms of size and feel so it felt like the right choice for a first melody instrument and in the past year and now I’m taking my first music lessons, and having a go on the pipes… all goes well, I’ll be session ready in 19 years.
