I’m from Akron, Ohio USA. I play whistle and flute. My father was a piano accordion player also from Akron. His name was Gordon Shaffer. Most of the musicians in my family play piano accordion. I like to travel light. My father started a session at the AOH club about 20 years ago. I have kept it going. We’ve moved from the AOH club. Come visit us every Weds. evening from 7:30p to 9:30p or so. You’ll find us at the Unitarian universalist Church on Morewood Ave in Fairlawn, Ohio. This session has now been named “ The Gordon Shaffer Session” in honor of my Dad, who started this session more than 25 years ago. We’ve moved a couple of times but it’s still the same session.
