I live on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland Australia and play the fiddle - lean towards the Irish styles but enjoy some of the others too including some Scottish and the French Canadian tunes and styles , and some Swedish has been creeping in too. At the moment not playing professionally, and travel down to Brisbane for sessions as often as can held at Gilhooly’s. Steve Cook and I teach tunes once a week in Maleny, and some of this class forms a Ceili Band which plays at various events including Woodford Folk Festival every year.
Have added whistles to the mix now - and have been making headway with the Low D which has been an interesting experience!
And now am playing a B/C Castagnari accordion. My new obsession!
