I’m a freelance fiddle teacher, performer & workshop leader. I grew up surrounded by music, thankful that I got dragged along to youth orchestras, school ensembles and traditional music groups as a teenager.

I play and teach tunes ranging from older 18th century tunes to new compositions inspired by my family and surroundings at home in the Scottish Borders.

I was formerly Principle fiddle tutor at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. I then managed an instrumental Music programme in local schools until 2011 and now Music Director of the Merlin Traditional Music Academy, a Traditional and alternative styles music school based in Melrose, Scotland. I recorded an album of older Scottish Tunes with Canadian/Scottish Cellist Christine Hanson in 2002 called "Touchwood."
