Charles Carr

I am from Philadelphia. I mostly write poetry. I am of Irish heritage (all family from Donegal. My Great Great and Great Grandfathers both arrived in America in 1850). My son took up the Uilleann pipes at age 16 and I came to love the music of the pipes. Two years ago I started playing the Native American flute and somehow this lead me to the Tin Whistle and I am now teaching myself and having a wonderful time of it. I hope to get more professional instruciton soon, but nonetheless it is fun learning on your own. There are lots of websites and online tutorials which have been very helpful, including a vast array of YouTube performances of different pieces which are great.
