Living in the north west of Ireland, playing guitar the longest and recently began (past6 years) playing trad. Playing very bad fiddle for more than 20 years, thought I could play Vivaldi until I gave up. Now enjoying a better appreciation and hopefully on the road a better understanding of Trad. Main instrument these days is mandola. As a past occasional session crashing guitar player. I sincerely apologise to all those whom I have offended in the past.
Mostly learning Leitrim tunes and from the surrounding counties, but am haunted by a lifetimes devotion to Planxty, Moving Hearts who as far as I am concerned made Irish music sexy, long before Michael Flatly. Bill Whelan was on the same track since time dance. Oh I sing a bit as well and am always on the lookout for a good song, mainly love Maddy Prior, June Tabor, Cara Dillon, Dick Gaughain so many others. I dream of being in a band, it might be when I retire but if it happens it happens
