Agnus O’Connor taught us Irish dancing in St Mary’s Hall, Clapham Common, London SW4 as well as the pipes. She was kind but when it came to band practice she was very disciplined - God help you if you were out of tune.
I met up with her again at a Irish Festival in north London and she remember me after all those years. When I got married she sent her pipers to play at the reception which really made our wedding day extra special. She played the pipes for many years at Westminster Cathedral on the 17th March -
St Patrick’s Day. I know she passed away a good few years ago but may God bless her as she brought lot of happiness to many, many people.
