Hi everyone, I’ve just joined so will make this brief for now. I love this forum and always find what I’m looking for on here ( or end up more confused than ever, but it stretches the old grey cells 🙂 )

I’m Dave, retired now, from Tamworth/Birmingham, with Irish roots in Dublin. I play self taught Bodhran, but haven’t had anywhere to play it since the Horse and Jockey stopped hosting the Irish sessions some time ago.

I’m from the Midlands in England. I have always wanted to become proficient at playing musical instruments. Nearing retirement now I plan to start in earnest to learn. This will be one of my hobbies in my retirement. … to play music with friends.

On retirement have taken up the penny whistle again and looking for resources to help. This website is very useful and compliments books that I have purchased. Also playing the mouth organ and taking guitar lessons.

From UK, play guitar, reeds, flute and a bit of low whistle. General interest in Irish music.

I’m studying towards a degree in Music Performance and Professional Practice at Coventry University, living in Birmingham.

From Streetly and learning Guitar for approximately 8-9 years. Basic stuff and looking to improve from playing with others.

Retired and I collect quality banjos mandolins and ukuleles and various others now to include concertinas. Just starting to learn to play them all!
