Turas go Tír na nóg
Turas Go Tir Na NOg
It’s my understanding this translates to -
“Journey to the Land of Youth”
Is Caoimhin a bit twee??
No. Caoimhin is a person’s name.
Are you talking about Dublin man Kevin O’Reilly?
Here’s a tune Mike Rafferty renamed in honor of Kevin: https://thesession.org/tunes/3523

Does anyone know where you can hear this album? It doesn’t seem to be obtainable or on youtube or spotify. I love to hear solo fiddle CDs, but few seem to record them. Thanks

Ashley,
This album was a limited edition of 500 copies which formed part of Caoimhín’s project in relation to his application for a Raleigh International scholarship (https://raleighinternational.org/). The majority of those were sold to family, friends and his wider social circle. I was lucky enough to bump into him at ITMA, back in 1999, and he kindly gave me a copy, having already reached his targets.
The CD was never intended to be available for commercial purposes, so you won’t find it available for downloading. If you want to hear it, you’ll have to find someone who owns a copy or visit ITMA.
