Re: Epona

I’ve listened to some of the tracks on YouTube, and was wondering where the slip jig Superscot (10A) comes from. Is it traditional?

Re: Epona

Fairly sure that it’s not traditional. I think it was recently written by either Kevin O’Neill or possibly Gabe McVarish, but I could be wrong about that. I would expect the composer to be credited in the album sleeve-notes, but it’s not a recording I have ever had.

Re: Epona

PS - on reflection with reference to the above, I may have been thinking of “Supernose”, not “Superscot”. I think I have sheet music for “Superscot” from somewhere, which may or may not list a composer - need to have a look.

Re: Epona

It’s listed as published in “Caberfeidh”, the 2nd collection of tunes by the “Queen’s Own Highlanders”, a book I don’t have, unfortunately. Someone else might have access to it.

Re: Epona

The sleeve notes say it was composed by G Johnstone and found in the book which Kenny mentioned.

Thanks Nigel.
