Sarah’ndipity
Released in June 2006, “Sarah‘ndipity” is hot off the press, and doing fabulously in the stores and the media. This lively recording is the debut album of Sarah Burnell, and comprises a wonderful mixture of Scottish, Cape Breton, and Irish tunes, played in Sarah’s “hodge-podge” fiddle style, incorporating Scottish, Cape Breton, Quebecois, Irish, and Jazz influences. Sarah also lends her beautiful voice to two haunting Irish and Scottish ballads. The instrumentation on the CD is as follows: Fiddle, piano, guitar, bodhran, percussion, cello, electric and standup bass, flute. Sarah is joined by several well-known folk musicians, including Jeremiah McDade on winds, and Paul Mills on guitar (who also produced and engineered the recording). “Sarah’ndipity” was been acclaimed on commerical and CBC radio and television, and in several Ottawa newspapers; it is not to be missed!
