Seamus Bugler “The Luck Penny”
Several people mentioned “The Luck Penny” in a recent discussion of favorite tunes to learn. I was surprised to see the album by this title missing from the database, so here it is.
A lovely, straightforward, traditional recording by East Clare B/C button accordion player Seamus Bugler with piano accompaniment by Billy Greenall. Two tracks are accordion duets with Brendan Bugler, who also plays piano on one track. John O’Brien plays piano on the slow air, track 10.

Seamus is, of course, the host at one of the best known sessions in Clare, on Thursday nights:

The first reel on track 9 is listed as Gan Ainm on the album, but I just found out it’s a P.J. King composition called Pauline’s Place, so I updated the track listing here so it will link.
