Claire Mann
A great CD by a NewCastle-born fiddle, flute, and whistle player. She joined the sessions in north England, Scotland, and Ireland, so the tunes in the album are the mixture of Scottish and Irish, including some recent compositions.
Good selection of the tunes from both traditions, and fantastic and sincere playing. Little bit similar to Kevin Crawford’s “In Good Company.”
Featuring John Joe Kelly and Simon Thoumire.
Track 5 tune 3, and Track 8
Track 5 tune 3 was composed by Tim O’Leary, when playing for band McDermott’s Two Hours
Track 8, two mazurkas composed by Tim O’Leary

I’d add all-ireland champion to the impromptu biog above. Co. Durham musician.
To me sounds not unlike Tom McIlvogue.
Re: Claire Mann
1) She’s from Newcastle-on-Tyne.
2) She’s never actually won a solo senior All-Ireland championship.

Great fluter and whistler though. 🙂

Fiddler and singer too. And, based on the feedback from the recent online “Aberdeen FluteFling”, a highly-respected and talented teacher as well.
