FIDDLE by Dougie MacLean
FIDDLE by Dougie MacLean (1984) DUNCD002….Instrumental album of original compositions featuring Scottish fiddle, guitar, didgeridoo, bass mandola and keyboards. Entirely made up of fiddle tunes both sprightly and moody, this is a delightful album by a resourceful, imaginative and often (always!!) brilliant musician
Track 3 spelling
“Craigie Dhu” - it’s a house outside Dunkeld where Dougie & Jenny used to stay. Also the title of one of his albums, and one of Jenny’s paintings. Great tunes on this recording.
Here
Thanks Kenny
Cheers for spotting the spelling error!
I did already know that Craigie Dhu (CD) was on the Session. I have just popped over from Dougie’s forum.

Did I read somewhere you were a school chum of his? Do you have any pictures?? That would be funny to see Dougie in short troosers!
Thanks again

Early fiddle on “Youtube”
Here’s a clip of Dougie playing 2 local tunes from near his home in Dunkeld. These are not on the album, but show what a fine fiddle player he is.
