Good Friends-Good Music

Lots of guests and a few stabs at American tunes. Not their best effort, although when they settle down and play trad, it’s pretty fine. An odd one in that there aren’t any songs - I can’t think of any other album from them that was all tunes.

Surprised no one’s mentioned who the "Friends" were, as I think it’s well worth giving them credit since some of them haven’t recorded very much, - this is especially true of the flute players on the last tracks. The "Boys" should be applauded for what they did on this recording in bringing in very fine musicians from several traditions, who don’t get the recognition they deserve .
