Surreel

"Surreel" is Daniel Lowery (flute, tin whistle), Ryan McGiver (guitar, bouzouki), Caitlin Warbelow (fiddle, bodhran), Isaac Alderson (uilleann pipes, flute) and Sarah Wilfong (fiddle). This CD was recorded live during concerts given in Alaska in the summer of 2001. I had the pleasure of attending the concert in Fairbanks, and the CD brings back memories of a wonderful, high-energy evening of fantastic music. The CD isn’t commercially produced: it looks like something you’d make on your home computer. I’m guessing you might be able to get one from a band member. Isaac Alderson, who plays on this recording, has won All-Ireland honours (you could also say he’s a world champion as people in the competition came from other countries too) on uilleann pipes, whistle and flute at the 2002 Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann in Listowel. A three times winner at this level in a Senior All-Ireland competition is some achievement - well done Isaac !!!
