One comment

This CD was issued by CCÉ in 2001 (CL-57) as part of its 50th anniversary sessions and seemingly in a very short print-run, since it rapidly disappeared from view. The album’s notes do not provide any information regarding the dates of the recordings and there are some very noticeable absentees from this selection of archive recordings, including, not least Tommy Peoples, Junior Crehan and Bobby Casey.

The musicians and singers are as follows, track-related:

1) Brendan McGlinchey;
2) Peter Horan and Fred Finn;
3) Séamus Meehan;
4) Nioclás Tóibín;
5) Patrick Kelly;
6) Mick O’Connor and Katherine Lawrie;
7) Eugene Nolan;
8) Gráinne Hambly;
9) Anne McAuliffe;
10) Paddy Ryan;
11) Paddy and John Tunney;
12) Mícheál Ó Raghallaigh and Eoghan O’Brien;
13) Michael Tennyson and Chris O’Malley;
14) and 24) Julia Clifford;
15) Patsy Hanley;
16) Pádraig Moynihan;
17) Michael Rooney;
18) John Doherty;
19) Máire Nic Dhonnchadha;
20) Carmel Gunning;
21) Bobby Gardiner;
22) Paddy Glackin;
23) Mícheál Ó hAlmhain;
25) Joe Burke and Charlie Lennon.
