Joseph Browne, for those that do not know, was an extremely talented young musician who died tragically in February 2006 at the age of nineteen. He played the fiddle, piano (traditional and classical), concertina and was a talented Irish dancer, as well as having just started medical school. This array of talents speaks for itself. In his memory this CD was put together from various sources as he never made any commercial recording. The tracks vary in quality as some are ‘field recordings’ but they give an insight into his obvious talent. On a number of these tracks he is accompanied by his long time music teacher Máire O’Keeffe. In addition a Joseph Browne Spring School has taken place in Gort each February.
