Good news….
Has this just been released ? Please tell us more.
Well they released it at their gig in the Temple Bar Trad Fest at the end of January, but it only went on sale in the shops around Dublin last week. Well tis a lovely album anyway, a bit different than some of their older stuff but still unmistakably Teada. The sound is a bit more ‘mature’ if you like, as is what happens with bands. Don’t know what else to say about it have to listen to it a few more times to get the full effect.
Classic
Mature, yes - more than that, this is real class, their best yet… solid old rare tunes, great arrangements, not over-produced, keep ’em coming lads..
Excellent…..
I’d forgotten how good this CD is,until I listened to it again last night. A great selection of fairly obscure tunes, with virtuoso playing from all concerned from start to finish. Not a bad - or even average - track on it. If there’s a better band playing Irish traditional music at the moment, I’ve yet to hear them.
Released over 2 years ago - high time we had another recording from them, unless I’ve missed something.
The Paddy Cronin tune on track 6 is “A tailor I am”, https://thesession.org/tunes/10361
Re: Ceol & Cuimhne / Music & Memory
Does anyone have a transcription for The Russians Are Coming, or an alternate tune name? Love that tune, but it’s whipping by me a little fast to learn by ear.
