Sean-nós singing with interesting and sensitive accompaniment from some fine musicians. Interesting use of double tracking on the voice on "Tuaireamh Mhic Finín Duibh"— feels like sean-nós meets Elliot Smith. Some haunting sounds, but the album ends with a joyous rendition of "Kiss the maid behind the barrel" on fiddle, whistle and harp.
I should mention, not all tracks are accompanied, some are solo.
A fine voice!
…which at times remind me of Alan Stivell’s -at his warmest best (acoustic era and when he wasn’t singing in fonetik goylik!)
