www.bitsnpieces2011.com is Dónals website. This is a brilliant new fiddle album from the young Monaghan Fiddler. Influences such as Peoples, Rooney and Carty can be heard in Dónals playing. He sticks to the tradition on this album and shows great maturity in his playing. He is joined on the Album by his brother Michael on guitar/bouzouki/bass guitar/piano (of At The Racket and At First light fame), Brian Mc Grath on piano ( At the Racket, De Danann) and Johnny ‘Ringo’ Mc Donagh on Bodhrán ( De Danann, Arcady).
Dónals album is available on his website and is also available in Sound Quality, Monaghan, Tigh Neds Pub, Inis Oirr and Powells Music Shop, Shop Street, Galway.
Claddagh Records are also in the process of distributing the Album to all good music shops and will be available very soon.
Donal will be playing on Charlie Mc Gettigans radio show on Saturday 27th August (Shannonside/Northern sound Radio). He will also be playing on Michelle Nic Grianna’s programme on RnaG at the Fleadh next week in Cavan Friday 19th 11-12pm. Keep an eye out for Donal and his Album at the Fleadh. He is prone to an odd street session !!!
Dónal will be Launching his album in The Crane Bar, Galway in September and he will also be Launching his album at Scoil Cheoil na Botha ( www.anbhoth.ie) on Saturday 15th October as part of a wonderful weekend of music in Scotstown, Co. Monaghan.
