Re: Gems Of Ireland

A list of musicians is fine , but of a lot more use if you list the instruments they play.

1. Tommy Guihan & Carol Talty [ flute and piano ]
2. Antóin MacGabhann [ fiddle ]
3. Máire ní Chathasaigh [ harp ]
4. Annette Caulfield & Máire ní Chathasaigh banjo and harp ]
5. Vincent Crowley [ singer ]
6. Sean Montgomery [ fiddle ]
7.Tommy McCarthy [ uilleann pipes ]
8. Antóin MacGabhann [ fiddle ]
9. Pádraig Moynihan [ melodeon ]*
10. Annette Caulfield & Máire ní Chathasaigh [ banjo and harp ]
11. Tommy Guihan & Carol Talty [ flute and piano ]
12. Carol Talty [[ singer ]
13. Tommy McCarthy [ concertina ]
14. Seán Montgomery [ fiddle ]
15. Joe Burke [ accordion ]

* [ - sleeve says "accordion", but I had the pleasure of meeting Pat and his very musical family a few years back at the Lorient festival in Brittany, and I’m 99% certain this track is played on melodeon. ]

Re: Gems Of Ireland

PS - I jumped to the wrong conclusion above - it seems there are [ at least ] 2 box-playing Padraig Moynihan’s, the one I met from Cork, and the other from Kerry. It’s the Kerry Padraig playing on this LP - found him on "youtube" :
