Swinging on a gate

I bought this cd because I found the tune list quite interesting - and I was not disappointed! The only hammered dulcimer player I had known before was Guy Caravan who played beautiful versions of little-known Southern mountain tunes like "The Great High Wind". I´m not such a fan of this instrument´s sound but Tony Elman offers some very good arrangements and combinations of instruments. I especially like the versions of "Sally in the Garden", "La Bastringue" and the slowed down version of "The Burning of the Piper´s Hut" (IS it slowed down?). A beautiful rediscovery of a cd made - amazingly! - in 1986. Sounds timeless!
