Waiting for a Call

The new album by a “living legend” of the Irish fiddle. It’s a great honor for me to post this recording.

Though I can’t describe how great his music is, several things must be noted here. Eleven of sixteen tracks were recorded around 1985 with Alec Finn (bouzouki), Sean Patt (pipes) and Donal Lunny (bodhran), but they seems to have slept in the Shanachie studio for long (probably “waiting for a call”). And finally five more tracks were recorded with John Doyle last year (2002) to complete the project. Why did it take so long?

Great! I can’t say any more.

Older and …

Normally people get better during the years, but I think Tommy’s playing is * much * better on the older recordings of this album. Timing and intonation are quite a few times a bit weak on the new tracks IMHO.
