Flowers of Spring by Josephine Keegan

1982 Recording now re-issued on iTunes

RECORDINGS_ Flowers of Spring

Many thanks to Edgar Bolton, alerting us that a rare 1982 album "Flowers of Spring" is now on iTunes. Josephine Keegan shows here her award-winning fiddle talent. Many will know her from her piano accompaniment to the likes of the late Sean Maguire (fiddle) & Roger Sherlock (flute) or Jim McKillop (fiddle).
In 2005 Josephine was awarded Gradam Ceoil’s "Traditional Composer of the Year".

From a sound academic musical background Josephine’s recordings have been heard on " Fairy Bridges", "A Few Tunes ‘Now & Then’ " and " Lifes Work" albums. The last ( a 2CD set) is a showcase of Josephine’s compositions capturing the local musical feel of Co Armagh yet retaining traditional roots: it’s for dancing to!

Outlet label…

Quite a few of the "Outlet" label recordings are now available on "iTunes", where the original LP recordings were never released on CD, some recordings which haven’t yet been posted here. I’ve noticed in the last 2 weeks that albums by accordion players John Whelan and Kevin Loughlin can now be bought through "iTunes".
Incidentally, Jeremy introduced a welcome feature here a few months ago which will link a recording if it’s available through "iTunes" , and also "Spotify" - see this web-page, top right, for example.
