The Mist Covered Mountain

This was one of the greats. A nice tribute to Junior Crehan to name the album after his composition. Also great singing by the old boys with backing by Alec Finn on bouzouki. Issued in 1980 its still good a quarter of a centuary later.

I absolutely love the banjo playing on this, brilliant

folks, the “sean ryan’s” in track 9 is not a jig, as the notes here claim. it is a reel, which makes sense given that it is paired with the reel “cottage in the grove.”

Sean Ryan’s

The notes here don’t make any such claim at all. It is unfortunate that the software here can only link to a specific tune title, but it’s something we just have to live with. If Sean Ryan has both a jig and reel bearing his name, it’s a toss-up whether the link will connect to the correct jig or reel in the database.
If memory serves, this is the Sean Ryan reel played here by “De Danann” : “The Blockers” -

Does anyone know anything about “Mr. O’Connor”? Would love to know who the composer is. No media file on thesession.org of this tune.

Carolan…

Composed by harpist Turlough O’Carolan, I believe - doesn’t it say that on the sleeve ?

I think that’s the tune you’r referring to , but don’t have the recording at hand at the moment. Apologies if I’m wrong.
