Is it just me, or is there something different about Casey’s fiddling here than on his other records ("Taking Flight", "The Spirit of West Clare", etc.)? I don’t know if it’s the recording more than the playing, but Casey seems to put a lot more power and enthusiasm into his playing here. Except maybe for that really long set on "The Spirit of West Clare", which is a gem. But overall, I think his playing here is somewhat different. Has anyone else noticed this? Fabulous record, by the way!
