Re: Rooska Hill
Hi, Pádraig O’Keeffe’s, track 7. Is rated as a Reel and it’s obviously a Reel. But the link leads to a Jig, does anyone know more about this one? Thank you, Charles.
Re: Rooska Hill
It sounds to me like a version of “Pay The Girl Her Fourpence”. Certainly strong similarities in the first few bars.
The version of the next reel, “The Eel In The Sink”, is not the usual version either. The answer might lie in the sleeve notes, but it’s not a CD I have anymore.
Re: Track 6
Aine’s Reel is Tim Fitzpatrick’s.

Re: Track 7
Padraig O’Keefe’s is “Knocknabowl” from Breathnach’s CRE2.253 (Denis Murphy). This version is pretty different but I’m sure it’s the same tune.
Peeler’s Pocket is also in Breathnach CRE2.204
