It was amazing to see these lads this week on their first US tour. This new album is fantastic — Ellen and Murdo are great additions to the band. Sad that Ellen couldn’t join them for our leg of the tour, but we got to see Hannah Read in her stead, a quality fiddler and singer.

Killer album! And, link to Mike MacDougall’s…

We were incredibly humbled to host the complete lineup of the band here in Lubbock, TX for their 2017 U.S. tour. They’re all friendly and good-humored, and I was delighted to introduce them to a new whisky that they had never experienced before (the Glencadam Aged 10 Years).

Also, shameless plug: If you’re curious and want to shed some light on one of the power players in the independent Scottish beer scene, check out the Isle of Eigg’s Laig Bay Brewing Company, which is co-owned by the band’s fiddler Gabe McVarish.

Finally: take note of the link here to the jig "Mike MacDougall’s" on track 5. It links to the Dmaj jig, but the tune on the album is actually a different tune in Gmaj (separately posted on this site, but by the same composer).
