“Jimmy Shand: Over the Hills and Far Away”
“Memory Lane Presents”
Pegasus, Made in Germany, 2002 - PGN CD 863
Another re-release of Jimmy Shand recordings, “archive recordings digitally enhanced.”
“Jimmy Shand: Accordion Favourites” - a later release and another title
Delta Music / Music Digital, 2007 - CD6636
This take on it is 21 tracks instead of 22, minus “The Agnes Waltz”, track 12 above. The differences in the order of the tracks, 11 is “The Blue Bell Polka”, followed by 12 - 21 which are the same in order as tracks 13 - 22 above. Here is the order of the remaining tracks 1 - 10:
_1. ) The Veleta
_2. ) Cock O’ The North / Major John MacLennan
_3. ) Loudon’s Bonnie Woods / The Brae’s O’ Mar / Keel Row
_4. ) Bonnie Dundee / The Rock and The Wee Pickle Tow / Atholl Gathering
_5. ) Kiss Me Quick My Mother’s Coming / Babes In The Woods / O’er the Hills and Far Away
_6. ) Snow in Summer
_7. ) Mrs. McLeod / Fairy Dance / De’il Amang the Tailors / Soldier’s Joy / Speed the Plough / The Wind That Shakes the Barley
_8. ) Eileen Alannah
_9. ) Miss Betty Fichet’s Wedding
10. ) Lassie
Both compilations had spelling issues, for one example, on this latter issue it’s correctly “Loudon’s Bonnie Woods”, while the earlier has it as “London’s Bonnie Woods”, possibly a spellchecker gone awry?
