Re: Ag Fogairt An Lae
Just listening to this at the moment - thanks to “Nico” at “Chiff & Fipple” for making me aware of it - and enjoying it hugely. 2nd offering from “The Raw Bar Collective” - Conal O’Grada [ flute ], Dave Sheridan [fiddle ] and Benny McCarthy [ accordion ], with some excellent singing from Nell Ní Chróinín, and bodhran accompaniment by Colm Murphy.
Seems to be quite a few original compositions on it, and so far so good. More to say later.

Lots of originals from Conal. There’s a bunch of great things on this, and I don’t know if I could pick a favourite - but I do love that they play a set of Newfoundland singles as polkas, something I’ve been up to as well. Also that set has a special place in my memory due to the fantastic surprise “dancing” of Deirdre Corrigan onstage at the CIAW in July (at Conal’s request, too!)

I have the Raw Bar Collective’s first album. Really enjoyed that as well. I’d hope to post it on here shortly….
