Re: Pride Of Wexford

This was originally a Belfast “Outlet” label LP recording. There’s a copy of it up for sale on eBay at the moment [ nothing to do with me ], but as some of these old “Outlet” recordings have been surfacing on “iTunes” recently, I thought I’d have a look. Sure enough, there it was for the bargain price of £3.99, so I bought it, and am listening to it right now. Good, solid 70s/80s Irish accordion playing, real “meat and potatoes” session tunes, with an emphasis on reels.
I had to edit track 14 - “Joe Gooley’s jigs [ sic ]” was just not going to be credible. 🙂
Also track 3 has 3 slip-jigs, not just one which is listed, so I’ve edited that too.
“Farewell To Erin” is the 4 part reel, not the 2-part in “D”, one of the few recordings of it I’ve come across by an accordion player.
A fine recording, for less than the price of a pint [ Aberdeen prices ].

Re: Pride Of Wexford

The first slip jig in track 3 the is “Hunting the Hare” I think.
