Re: The Lane

Liam O’Brien is the TG4 Gradam Ceoil “Young Musician Of The Year”, an outstanding concertina player from Miltown Malbay. I was introduced to him, and bought the CD from him at the CD launch at Spanish Point during the 2017 Willie Clancy week. I bought quite a few recently-released CDs that week - this one is far and away my favourite. A great selection of tunes, superbly played, at just the right tempo, with very clean ornamentation, and most importantly, he doesn’t over-do it. A classic concertina recording.
[ Track 10, a song by Junior Crehan in praise of Willie Clancy is sung by Michael Perigoe, a fine flute / whistle player and singer who played in many sessions with us here in Aberdeen a few years ago ].
