Re: Smallpipes, Fiddle, & Gaelic Song

HECLA is a traditional music trio based in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. Featuring Ailis Sutherland (pipes/whistles), Ilona Kennedy (fiddle) and Kaitlin Ross (guitar/vocals), Hecla present beautiful, crisp and energetic arrangements of traditional Gaelic songs and instrumentals. Since the release of their debut EP in January 2017, the trio has performed at the HebCelt Festival, Cambridge Folk Festival and represented Scotland at Festival Interceltique de Lorient. The band takes its name from Hecla - the beautiful and enigmatic hill in South Uist which can be seen from Lews Castle College where the trio are currently completing the BA (Hons) in Applied Music with the University of the Highlands and Islands.
