Re: Tunes from The Flaggy Shore
“Florence is among those gifted young players who are helping to sustain the older dialects of Clare music”.
Fintan Vallely
This is a lovely, simple, presentation of County Clare music. I played with Flo and her father, Martin, fifteen years ago, in New Queue. They were very kind, welcoming, and happy to have people join them. It is that spirit of welcome that I find in this lovely CD. It is unaffected by the knuckle twisting modern take on the music by some of the contemporary hot-shots of the anglo concertina. How wonderful our sessions would be if we all played our music as Flo does.

This is the most beautiful cd to listen to, what a wonderful talented musician a true exponent of the tradition.
Re: Tunes from The Flaggy Shore
Glad to see this lovely CD included here. But note that Flo spells her surname without the “e.”
Re: Tunes from The Flaggy Shore
I have edited both the spelling of her name and the link to the tune that she calls “Lark in the Morning” It is cataloged in The Session as “The Morning Lark” tune # 2060.
