The Natural Bridge by Ben Lennon And Friends

Ben’s friends on this 1999 cd are, Brian Lennon (concert flute), Garry OBriain (guitar, mandocello, piano), John Carty (tenor banjo, fiddle), Maurice Lennon (fiddle, viola), Charlie Lennon (fiddle, piano), Seamus Quinn (fiddle, piano), Gabriel McArdle (vocals, concertina), and Ciaran Curran (mandola).
Tracks 1 and 3 are studio recordings, track 16 was recorded in concert at Ballagh Hall, Rossinver, Co. Leitrim, and all the other tracks were recorded live in Meehan’s, The Cosy Corner Bar, Kiltyclogher, Co. Leitrim.
The sound, which I find most attractive, is that of a good live pub gig, the players all obviously enjoying themselves.
The sleeve notes are comprehensive.
The cd is published by Clo Lar-Chonnachta Teo, cd number CICD139.
