Re: Keadue Bar

The Keadue bar in question isn’t a hostelry but a sandbank on the coast of Donegal, not that far from the Bunbeg pub where Ian Smith (guitar and vocals) and Stephen Campbell (fiddle and viola) were regulars at the Monday night session.(https://thesession.org/sessions/2476).

Released in 2004, others appearing here include Manus Lunny, Phil Cunningham, Dermot Byrne, Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh, Tara Diamond, Laurence McElhinney, and Séamus O’Kane.

Ian’s vocals are clearly influenced by his fellow Scot Dick Gaughan, but have enough individuality to make their mark and he’s a fine guitarist too. Stephen’s fiddle is both driven and fluid - on his day he’s still one of the best in Donegal. Here he is back in 2001 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XgR0GZsORo. Of late he’s been playing with Goats Don’t Shave.
