Re: Bóithríní an Locháin
Mattie Jó Shéamuis Ó Fátharta is from Na hAille in Connemara, Co. Galway, and is a well-known and respected figure in music circles throughout this country and further afield. He is an acclaimed sean-nós singer, and won Corn Uí Riada, the All-Ireland sean-nós competition, in 2001. He is also a skilled instrumentalist, and plays flute and uilleann pipes.
This long-awaited debut solo album from Mattie contains a wonderful collection of songs, including local versions of An Bhó Bhán and An Sagart Ó Domhnaill. Of course, it also includes Mattie’s signature song Bóithríní an Locháin.
There is one track of lilting on the album and three tracks of music: a beautiful flute duet with Neansaí Ní Choisdealbha; and two tracks of sets of reels and jigs played by Mattie on uilleann pipes with Neansaí Ní Choisdealbha (flute), Aisling Ní Neachtain (harp), Johnny Connolly (melodeon), Luisne Ní Neachtain (fiddle), Micheál Deáirbí Ó Fátharta (melodeon) and Tommy Ó Méalóid (accordion).

It seems his Irish name has been autocorrected.
I personally love his lilting too.
