Re: Knots in the Wood
Does someone know anything about “The Fox” (the song)? Guess it’s composed by them, it sounds fairly modern (but it’s a good song!)
Re: Knots in the Wood
Not modern at all. There’s an article on the song on Wikipedia :
“The Fox is a traditional folk song (Roud 131) from England. It is also the subject of at least two picture books, The Fox Went Out on a Chilly Night: an old song, illustrated by Peter Spier and Fox Went out on a Chilly Night, by Wendy Watson. The earliest version of the song was a Middle English poem, dating from the 15th century, found in the British Museum”.

Great, I like that it’s that old! Sounds so modern to me, don’t know why ( but this isn’t meant negative in any way, I like the song pretty much, going to add it to my repertoire I think ;))I did a search on the internet, but couldn’t find anything.
Re: Knots in the Wood
Usually depends on what you “search” for. Try “The Fox American folk song” - that’s all it takes to give you plenty of choices to look at, and probably a few Youtube performances as well.
