Re: Díreach Ón gCroí

This is my first time adding a recording and I’m still working through making sure the titles are correctly spelled and linked to the right tunes…patience and any help appreciated. I was just amazed it wasn’t on here yet and thought I should rectify that!

A wonderful rollicking album with Gearóid McNamara on piano and Gerry McMahon on guitar, and Mairéad Bogue contributing a couple tracks on fiddle.

Made a few corrections, which should help..

Hope there’s not going to be disagreement here. When the OP posted the recording with its’ original Gaelic title - which is all that appears on the front cover of the sleeve - it linked to the recording on Apple. Adding the title in English broke that link, so I’ve restored it, which means we can listen to some of the music on the tracks to check the accuracy of the links, and indeed form a judgement as to whether or not to buy the recording, which I am considering at the moment.
Track #4 - the tune titled “Roaring Mary” is a jig, not the well-known reel of that name. The following jig is not the “Jig in A” recorded by Gerry O’Connor, which it was linking to. Sure I know it from somewhere, but it’s not springing to mind at the moment. This track is played on fiddle, not accordion.

Track 4 -The name I have for the second tune is Pet of the Pipers.
