This was the debut album, when Frankie and Mairead were Altan. Others guest.

Two early Altan tunes - can anyone supply these?

I’ve looked up Altan’s first album (“Altan”) to learn the sets The Cliffs Of Glencolumkille/Old Cuffe Street (reels) and An TSeanchailleach Gallda/Dermot Byrne’s (jigs).

I’ve found Old Cuffe Street and An TSeanchailleach Galda in the Tunes base; but The Cliffs Of Glencolumkille has been erroneously identified with Old Cliffe Street and is therefore missing from the base as a separate tune, and Dermot Byrne’s is represented in the base by a different tune, a reel not a jig.

If anyone can post The Cliffs Of Columkille and Dermot Byrne’s jig in any reasonable place on this site, or say where they may be found, I’ll be very grateful!

(I meant, “Erroneously identified with Old Cuffe Street” - not Cliffe.)

Just play “Last Nights Fun” in place of Cliffs of Glencolumkille..

Re: Altan

I’ve updated the artist info here as this was actually an album by Frankie and Mairead prior to the group officially forming.

I note Jeremy has deleted the more recent submission. However, the above explains the confusion.
