Patrick Ball - Carolan’s Dream
Patrick Ball is a wire-strung harp player, focusing on Irish music and storytelling traditions. This album is pleasantly quiet, good for background music in a shared office space, for down time at the end of a stressful day, or for a compromise selection between the ITM music lovers and the ITM music intolerant in a gathering. Ball has the ability to keep the crystalline sound of the wire-strung harp from becoming cloyingly sweet, and the album has a nice balance of upbeat and melancholy tunes.
