Times & Level

Most Sundays beginning at 2:30 PM and going to 6:00 or 7:00 P.M. Some musical ability required.

Official time change and other info

The session officially runs from 3 to 6 pm. All levels welcome, the etiquette is we go round the circle and when it’s your turn you can lead you favorite, request one you are trying to learn, or pass. Singers welcome, including a capella/Sean Nos or those who want to do the choruses on the sea chanteys and pub songs. Absolute beginners are welcome but may have a hard time keeping up. Ambient noise level can be high, so singers may need to pipe up or they may not be heard. Good food, good drink, good people and lots of good music.
Call Doug Huggins at 719-234-0641 for questions and directions.

A couple of more things…

As for song requests, No Unicorns, please, and Danny Boy only if it’s your wedding day or your 100th birthday.

Still going strong! We will celebrate 20 years of Session playing at this great pub in March 2018. Dancers and singers welcome.

Quinn’s is a wonderful host, and the patrons are attentive and appreciative, though the ambient noise level can be a bit high.

Call if you have questions. Doug at 719-208-1817 or email tradmusic at centurylink dot net.

Re: Jack Quinn Irish Ale House

On 25 March 2018 our Sunday Session will celebrate the 20th year of tunes, songs, whiskey and beer at Quinn’s ! Many thanks to Bill Sasz and the owners, and to Martin, the management and staff for twenty years of support and friendship!

We’ve been there longer than most marriages!

Just a reminder…this is a family friendly, all ages session which usually has children present. Please choose your songs and your language appropriately. Thanks.

Re: Jack Quinn Irish Ale House

I attended this friendly session yesterday and it was fantastic. Thanks for making a hammered dulcimer player feel welcome—great tunes and songs in a fine old building and pub. Definitely worth the 4 1/2 hour round trip for me—I’ll be back!

Re: Jack Quinn Irish Ale House

The good news is, on Sunday 15 March 2020 the Sunday Session at Quinn’s celebrated 22 years of traditional music and craic with a world class chocolate hazelnut cake that some of us are still working on and three hours of tunes and songs.

The less than good news is that today, 16 March, all local restaurants have been directed to cease on-site feeding for the next 30 days and go to only curbside carry out and delivery service. Quinn’s has supported traditional music since it opened its doors, and we’re encouraging everyone to support Quinn’s through these hard times. Personally I’ll be picking up Paddy’s day dinner tomorrow, curbside take away for my family. Please do the same and watch this space for news of the Quinn’s Sunday Session and when we can restore our regular revelry. Thanks to all the great players and punters who’ve made this the best Session in Colorado.

Re: Jack Quinn Irish Ale House

Quinn’s has survived the Dark Ages of Carry Out and Curb Service , and has reopened for sit down food and drink service but there’s no clear timeframe yet when music can resume. There are occasional irregular barn or driveway sessions and of course Zoom-along sessions… a few of us are working toward a workable JamKazam capability but it’s painfully slow progress and marginal for ordinary aging computers and standard web bandwidths.
I’ll post again when we know more about restoring the session, but it may be dependent on a prophylaxis, a better treatment or a vaccine or antibody treatment… unless the virus just fades away as some have in the past.
Stay well and hopefully get back to work!
