Ri Ra Session
Saw this in the Casco Bay weekly, 6-9 pm on Sept. 4th. I haven’t been myself; I’ll call them and check if it’s every week, suitable for beginners, etc.
Ri Ra Pub
I called today and although this was advertised as a ‘Session’, it’s not a traditional Irish session - just live Irish music, which would still be fun, but not what it appears! Might go and check it out anyway…
Lots of Music in Hallowell, Maine
I was up in Hallowell in March and walked into a fun place and sat in with the band playing, it’s an open mike … friendly and fun at The Wharf Tavern 130-134 Water Street, Hallowell, Me. 04347 207-622-9290
and also live music at: The Liberal Cup 115 Water Street, Hallowell, Me. 04347 207-623-2739

Sessions in Portland
There are no more sessions at Ri Ra. They have a Thursday night "Irish" music event but it is by and large all pub/ballad/drinking song bands now. If you stop by, encourage them to get some traditional music back in there!
For good sessions in Portland, get to Brian Boru on Sunday afternoons or Blue on Wednesday night.
This is a weekly session starting in October of 2016. It runs from 3-6pm and is open for all players although we do play at a high level (not a slow session). This session replace the recently cancelled Brian Boru session that ran for nearly 20 years before that pub went downhill. The same session group has come over to Ri Ra and we are excited for our new home. Great pints and food here! AC in summer and lovely water views! Come and join us!
Re: Ri Ra - Every Sunday, 3-6pm As Of 10/2/16
We will be in Portland on Sunday 25th Sept - before this session is advertised as starting - will there be a session anywhere in Portland on Sunday 25th 2016. We are visiting from Australia, only there for 3 nights and would like to get to a session in Portland.
