NCSU slow session
This is a casual session held in a classroom in Price Music Center (next to Tally Student Center) on NCSU campus. The classroom changes occasionally, but it tends to be one of the 2 large rooms on the ground floor. There is generally no audience (although, listeners are welcome, if they wish to come), and beginners are welcome.
Currently, the session is held every Monday from 4pm-5:30
This time will likely change every semester.
For the spring semester (Jan-May) of 2006, the session will meet on Wednesday from 4pm-5:30
For the summer of 2006, the day and location is different. We meet on Thursdays, near the fountain behind the Student center, or in case of rain, at the covered tables between the Student Center and Reynolds coloseum.
Look for another change for the Fall semester
The session is currently meeting on Wednesdays, 4:30-6:00pm, in Price Music Building, Room 201, on the campus of North Carolina State University. The session is open to the general public as well as NCSU students, faculty and staff.
It’s 2009..You Guys Still Active?
I live about an hour away. You guys still up and running?
This session is still going just as an fyi. If you Google ncsu irish session the latest website will come up with an up to date list of tunes. It’s in a nice space right now.
Update on the NCSU Irish Session
The NCSU Session still meets weekly on Thursdays, 5:00-6:30pm, in the One Earth Lounge in Talley Student Center. The session is open to anyone – students, faculty, staff, and public. The level is generally intermediate to advanced, but beginners are welcome and slow tunes are played. Every week, a list of the tunes played at the session is posted on the session website. Come and join us!
Re: Irish Session at NCSU
Since January 2016, the Irish Session at NC State University has been meeting on Tuesdays, 5:00-6:30pm in the One Earth Lounge of Talley Student Center. This is not a slow session. We will play tunes slowly if beginners come, otherwise we play at normal speed.
Re: Talley Student Center
Is the Irish Session still meeting? Are all levels invited? I am advanced beginner/intermediate level and although I read music I play a lot by ear. I would like to play with a “low pressure” group that just wants to have fun.
