Royal Oak Session

The session is open to players and singers of all standards.

The music is mainly Irish, but any traditional form of song or tune is very welcome (even actively encouraged).

There is usually plenty of very good beer and a bit of pie provided.

Starts approx., 8.30pm

I’ve been there last wednesday, and had great time.
The session began rather quietly, with 1 fiddle 1 diato and concertinas, and sometime later were also piano, tin whistle and flute, another fiddle, and maybe some other I don’t remember.
I discovered many local tunes, and also had the great pleasure to hear some very well played french tunes of my favorites, and even had to execute an unexpected “bourree à 2” on the floor.
A good breath in my busy week , thank you guys !

Re: The Royal Oak

It seems that this session now alternates, English one Wednesday, Irish the next…

Re: The Royal Oak

the French musos gather here 1st Sunday, so no surprise that French dance tunes are played.
