Shortt’s Bar used to be Lena’s in the days when it was run by Lena Hanrahan. It’s now Shortt’s, with Gerry Shortt the proprietor. The session starts at 10pm, the main man being Seamus Bugler. It’s a very open, friendly session and all musicians and singers are welcome. Set dancers too. This may well be the longest running session in Ireland. There’s been music here since the early 1970s.

Shortt´s bar, Feakle
It´s working now.
Seamus must be the same guy I’d met at a Pepper’s session on a Sunday or Monday evening. Good man — and a good lot of musicians playing along with him. Spot-on — friendly, welcoming, couldn’t have asked for a better time! Sorry I missed the Shortt’s session while I was in Clare. 🙁 Next time…
