Hearsall Inn Pub session

Coventry branch of Comhaltas meet on Tuesdays for an hour of learning tunes from 8 - 9 and a session later on. Adults who learn by ear/ notes share tunes and several children are taught by those adults in whistle and accordion with bodhran and fiddle also available. On the first Tuesday of the month we just have a session, beginning with the tunes the newer people are learning and progressing after that. We also like a few songs on this night and have a raffle.

Friendly and not too fast

I have been a few tiimes.
Friendly atmosphere and the music is not played at breakneck speed.
Interesting performers often call in and contribute to the session.

The craic is grand here, probably the best in the area; on most nights there’s a well-balanced mix of acoustic music and backround chat, not like some sessions where the crowd noise drowns out the musicians.

Change in Details

Lessons for people who wish to learn the tin whistle are available from 7 pm - 9 pm. Lessons are also available on the button accordion, mandolin, bodhran, banjo and fiddle are available from 8 pm - 9 pm. At 9 pm for a half an hour, learners are invited out to the session to play some of the basic tunes with all of the other musicians. Learners of all ages are welcome. From 9:30 onwards there is a session but musicians who want participate in this usually arrive any time from 8 pm onwards. We have a raffle every Tuesday and like a couple of songs as well.
