This is now a Folk Club on alternate Wednesdays. No session as such but if people want to do a tune that’s fine I believe. Best check with Allen (above).

Re: The Admiral Benbow

In October 2018 a Cornish session has started at the Admiral Benbow in the upstairs bar area. Music, at a fairly brisk pace, starts at 8pm and finishes at 10pm when people can stop, have a drink and a chat. Tunes are grouped into sets, with the names and keys announced to help newcomers.

A set list is maintained on Kesson: http://www.kesson.com/tunery/showsetlist.php?lr=16

Re: The Admiral Benbow

Is there currently a session active in Penzance? In May/June I’ll be in the area for a few weeks and would love to see/hear it, whether I bring my instrument or not. I play (usually mandolin) in a session in Champaign, Illinois, where the sets are mostly Irish, but it sounds like there has been a strong Cornish flavor there in the past.
