Very friendly and suitable for beginners. 95% of the tunes and songs are Welsh. There are occasional slow sessions earlier in the evening for absolute newbies to Welsh traditional music. All instruments welcome!

Croeso! / Welcome!

Knowing the problems with monthly things ~ I hope you soon become weekly, ofr the good of the music and musicians in your area… Lwcus dda! / Good Luck!

Diolch!

Thanks Ceolachan! This is the second year for the sessions. Always break for the August hols!

Last year was hugely successful with an average of 10 musicians turning up for each evening!

Sesiwn Werin Ty Tawe - Swansea’s Welsh Folk Session

This session is alive and well - growing monthly. It is now held on the 2nd Friday of every month. Music usually starts at about 9pm.

A warm welcome for all - Croeso cynnes i bawb!

Hi there, are these sessions still going? If so could you post dates and times please?

Re: Ty Tawe

These sessions are going strong. Second Friday of every month. Welsh tunes and Welsh songs with the odd exception thrown in. Really nice atmosphere. The posters say it starts at 8pm, but in my experience it’s more like 9pm+ and the tunes speed up as the night goes on.
